The Village of Hanna City (VOHC) purchases its water from Illinois American Water (IAW). In January of 2023 IAW increased its water rates by approximately 40%. The VOHC just received notice that IAW is considering another increase that could be up to 24% effective in January of 2025.
Attached is an article that discusses these significant price increases and provides a way for us to voice our concerns with the Illinois Commerce Commission who has to approve the proposed 2025 increase.

The Street Dept. will be filling potholes & making repairs to streets and alleys starting Tuesday, Feb. 6th. Please use extra caution when you encounter them to keep our crew safe. Our last Grant of the year goes to Matt Ricketts! Matt was awarded a grant to fix the siding on their home on Farmington Rd. Grant applications for the 2024 VOHC Grant program are now available to print off and submit. Postcards should be arriving shortly for those that are within the BDD/TIF districts.
We are sure you've heard all about the massive amount of snow we are forecasted to get starting tonight, into Wednesday. We aren't quite ready to call for an official parking ban yet, but we would like to remind everyone that anything over two inches of snow will kick the parking ban into effect. Please find alternate parking arrangements so Roger, Brad, and Jim can safely maneuver and clear the streets for your driving pleasure and to avoid a fine. Thank you and stay safe!

Attention Hanna City Water Customers:
The Village of Hanna City (VOHC) purchases its water from Illinois American Water.
In order to keep pace with inflation and price increases the VOHC Board has approved an increase of 2.7% for calendar year 2024. The VOHC Board remains committed to keeping water prices competitive as compared to other municipalities.
This increase will be applied to January usage and will appear on the bill received in early February.
